The "cheongsam fever" phenomenon once again reflects the powerful vitality and extensive influence of cheongsam.In order to meet the consumers' demand for the cheongsam,it is necessary to make efforts to solve the problems in the production of cheongsams.The investigation reveals that there are two major obstacles in the production of the cheongsam,which are "no suitable size"(not exactly the size of the individual)in industrial production and “extremely expensive” customized ones,respectively.Therefore,the study aims to establish a parametric design system of classic version of cheongsam,which can quickly produce cheongsam suitable for individual size.In the study,first,the transformation rule of the cheongsam version is figured out through summarizing the evolution of the cheongsam shape,carrying out the classical structure analysis,and comparing the classic versions.The structural design method of the classic version of cheongsam is concluded after inducing the common grounds among differences.Then,the experiments are designed to verify whether the classic version of cheongsam is adoptable.The mathematical model of parametric design is extracted,and the constraint relation between structural points is constructed by the model.Subsequently,the Visual Basic language is used to advance the size parameterization customization system of the classic version of cheongsam.Finally,virtual fitting experiment covering different sizes is conducted to test whether the version parameterization effect is good.At present,the system has made corresponding samples for women of Y,A,and B,and conducted virtual fitting verification.The verification effect is ideal,and the expected goal is basically achieved.Meanwhile,it can also provide a reference for the comprehensive development of garment CAD pattern intelligent technology.In the study,taking the cheongsam as the research object,the most classic versions are selected and the pattern making rules of the classic version of cheongsams are concluded.Then,the parametric design is adopted instead of thetraditional compass and straightedge construction.Besides,the virtual fitting is used to verify the fitting effect of different sizes,which illustrates the importance of parametric design for cheongsam plate-making.
