The excellent comprehensive properties,including large magnetostriction at low applied magnetic field,high mechanical strength,high permeability,weak temperature sensitivity and low cost,make Fe-Ga alloys become an advanced engineering materials for actuator and sensor applications.Since Fe-Ga alloy exhibits the largest magnetostriction along<100>direction,it is desirable to produce η(<100>//RD)textured Fe-Ga polycrystalline thin sheet with excellent magnetostrictive performance.Although the sharp η textures have been achieved by secondary recrystallization,overlarge grains can weaken mechanical properties.Consequently,it is necessary to develop texture control in fine grained Fe-Ga thin sheet with excellent comprehensive properties.The initial orientation and grain size have important influences on deformation texture and microstructure,as well as recrystallization texture.It is significative to control initial states such as orientation and grain size to optimize recrystallization texture.In the present study,strong η texture was successfully produced in fine grained Feg1Ga19 thin sheet by hot stacked rolling,cold rolling and annealing.Furthermore,microstructure and texture development based on various initial states were analyzed by electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD).(1)Strong η recrystallization texture can be obtained in fine grained Feg1Ga19 alloy sheets by suitable cold-rolling reduction and annealing temperature of shear-strained hot band.(2)The initial orientation has a significant effect on the microstructure and texture of cold rolled and recrystallized Fe81Ga19 sheet.η Recrystallization texture strongly depends on deformation{1l1}<112>component,which derived from initial Goss texture.Furthermore,the optimization of distribution of initial orientation can weaken α recrystallization texture and enhance η recrystallization texture,(3)The influence of initial grain size on recrystallization texture depends on initial texture.Appropriately increasing initial grain size can strengthen η recrystallization texture in terms of strong initial Goss texture.Decreasing initial grain size is beneficial for enhancement of η recrystallization texture in case of weak initial Goss texture.(4)The work systematically studies the influence of initial grain size and texture on ηrecrystallization texture,which can provide an important reference for the preparation of Fe-Ga alloy.
