Vibration and noise have become one of the most common concerns in the world.Whether it is for normal operation of mechanical equipment or to improve people’s quality of life, vibration and noise reduction is a research topic that social and scientific researchers cannot ignore.Fe-Mn based damping alloys have attracted much attention due to their excellent mechanical properties and high damping capacity, and functionalization of structural materials is the trend of material development. Therefore, the Cr,Co,Si elements were added successively based on Fe-Mn alloy components, and finally components was Fe-19Mn,Fe-19Mn-8Cr,Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co,Fe-19Mn-1Co-0.2Si.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Compared microstructure and damping capacity of different alloy after solution treatment, the results show that the higher the volume fraction of ε martensite, the better the damping capacity is,which indicates that the ε martensite is the main source of damping.(2)The effect of solution temperature on the damping capacity of Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co was investigated. The experimental results show that with the increase of the solution temperature. Both the volume fraction of ε martensite and the damping capacity increases first and then decreases, which indicates that ε martensite interlocked from each other and hinders the movement of the sources of damping.(3)The effect of aging temperature on the damping capacity of Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co was investigated. The results show that the damping capacity first increases and then decreases with the extension of aging time, which is due to the interaction between quenching vacancies and C atoms’ segregation.(4)The relationship between microstructure and damping capacity of different alloys after cold rolling was investigated. The results show that damping capacity is bad while the content of ε martensite is low after cold rolling, which indicates that the content of εmartensite is not the main factor to evaluate the damping capacity of the alloys after cold rolling.(5)The effect of cold rolling reduction rate on damping capacity of Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co was investigated. The results show that cold rolling can significantly improve the damping capacity. With the increase of cold rolling reduction rate, damping capacity first increases and then decreases and when the accumulated reduction rate is up to 20%,the damping capacity is the best.(6)The mechanical properties and corrosion rate of the alloys were tested and analyzed. The results show that the tensile strength of Fe-19Mn before cold rolling is the highest, reaching 762MPa,and the total elongation, yield strength and tensile strength of the other three alloys are all close. The damping capacity and mechanical properties of Fe-19Mn-8Cr-1Co after 20%reduction in thickness are better than that of Fe-19Mn.What’s more, the soaking corrosion test with 3.5%NaCl solution shows that the addition of Cr element obviously improves the corrosion resistance of the alloy. |
