In recent years,the application of modified organic silicon softeners on cotton fabrics is more and more studied,and the synthesis methods of all kinds of softening agents becomes more mature.The softness,smoothness and easy to protect of wool fabrics,which has attracted people's attention.However,wool fabric easily lead to shrink due to its scale structure.After a series of pretreatment and dyeing process,softness and hydrophilicity of wool fabrics will have a great change,even become worse,thus it is difficult to meet people's requirements for softness and amenity of wool fabrics.At present,the relevant research on Application of modified silicone softener on wool fabrics is very less.Through using different types of softener to the finishing process of wool fabrics,to find good softeners and finishing methods to achieve better finishing effect of softness and hydrophilicity on wool fabrics.The raw materials are used to synthesize amino silicone oil,which are as follows,octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane as monomer,catalyst,Amino coupling agent,dimethyl sulfoxide as accelerator and hexamethyl-disiloxane as capping agent.Then epoxy polyether is used to modify the amino silicone oil,which is formed hydrophilic softener A with the transparent appearance of light yellow.The reaction of polyether amine ED-230 and double epoxy ended silicone oil,which is formed hydrophilic softener B with colorless and transparent appearance.Some factors which influence the products of synthesis are discussed,then the appropriate reaction conditions will be determined.The wool fabrics are finished with amino silicone oil,hydrophilic softener A,hydrophilic softener B,and highly hydrophilic finishing agent C of commercialization.Through the tests of handle and hydrophilicity,the results indicate that the feel of finished fabric with amino silicone oil is 4?5 level,wetting time is 485s,the feel of finished fabric with hydrophilic softener A is 3?4level,wetting time is 234s,the handle of finished fabrics with hydrophilic softener B is 4?5 level,wetting time is 187s,the handle of finished fabrics with highly hydrophilic finishing agent C is1?2 level,wetting time is 3s.To reach better finished effect of softness and hydrophilicity,making hydrophilic softener B and highly hydrophilic finishing agent C into a composite hydrophilic softener BC,when the proportion of them is 4:1,feel of finished fabric can reach 4?5 level,wetting time is less 20s.Using the composite hydrophilic softener BC to finish wool fabric with the impregnation method,the proper process conditions are as follows:the bath ratio is l:20,the dosage of composite hydrophilic softener BC is 4%(O.W.F),the finishing time is 50min and the temperature is 60?.As a result,finished fabric has good softness and hydrophilicity,the warp tearing strength is 2134.98N,stiffness is 29.1mm,handle is 4?5 level,wetting time is 18s.Compared with the untreated fabrics,the performance has greatly improved.Finish wool fabrics with the impregnation-padding method,the performance of the fabrics can be more improved on the basis of the impregnation method,the warp tearing strength is 2840.58N,the average bending stiffness is 9.6×10-3,handle is 4?5 level,wetting time is 10s.
