The paper explores the bifunctional fluorination of olefins with trifluoromethylation.Firstly,an overview of the research progress in this area, then introduced a strategy of development research group of the novel single-electron oxidation to achieve bromotrifluoromethylation in detail. Finally,a summary and outlook in this field of research. The full text can be divided into three aspects as following:The first part discusses the progress of the research on the trifluoromethylation reactions. The development process of the fluorine-containing compounds is discussed in this chapter, which is divided into two section as following:(1)Based on the development of the substrate,The very recent progress in metal-catalyzed C-CF3 bond is summarized in detail. The reaction of trifluoromethylation groups is focused on the synthesis of trifluoromethyl hydrogenated aryl trifluoromethyl and olefinic derivatives;(2)Introduction Progress of the reaction of difunctional olefin-containing constructs CF3 group, focusing to achieve C-X,C-Ar,C-O,C-N,C-CN,C-S.In addition, the research progress of trifluoromethylation reaction with C-H bond activation was discussed in detail. In the second part, the synthesis of a series of trifluoromethyl substituted and brominated alkane derivatives based on the single electron oxidation process of trifluoromethyl bromide was introduced. The use of sodium trifluoromethanesulfinate as the trifluoromethyl source, with cheap sodium bromate as a single electron oxidant reagent, and as a bromine source, the smooth realization of the non-activated olefin, styrene compounds of high efficiency bromotrifluoromethylation. In the third part,it is shown that a series of alkynes can be used in the presence of sodium trifluoromethanesulfinate and sodium bromate under similar single-electron oxidation strategy to realize free radical addition ring reaction. It is a good strategy for synthesis bromotrifluoromethylation of heterocyclic compounds. Finally, through the above two parts of the summary, the new single-electron oxidation of the way to build containing trifluoromethylation method for the future, the focus is on the method of high atomic economy utilization and high selectivity, hope to provide a basis for future research in this area.
