Geological disasters occur frequently in my country, and geological exploration is extremely important. As a well-developed geophysical exploration method, electrical resistivity tomography is a non-destructive exploration method, which is simple and convenient operation, low cost, high efficiency, high precision, rich data and high visibility compared with traditional exploration methods. With widely used in environmental geology, mineral geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology and many other aspects,it has become one of the most convenient, practical and efficient means of exploration methods. On the basis of the existing research, according to the drawbacks of the existing high-density electrical instruments, this paper firstly proposes four instrument innovation points: the innovation of bidirectional cables, the innovation of despontaneous potential, the innovation of data transmission, the innovation of detection mode, and the innovation of The point was integrated into the high-density electrical instrument, and the Geo ERT IP 2401 electrical instrument was successfully developed. And compared with the parameters of other instruments, detection and inversion results,it proves that the instrument has strong performance and high data accuracy. Then, the developed electrical resistivity tomography instrument was used for field detection and application in thick loess areas, loess plateau irrigation areas, and loess mudstone landslides result. Finally, the deviation analysis of the measured data and the calculated data in several regions proves once again that the data collected by this instrument has high precision, high quality and high signal-to-noise ratio. The relationship between the resistivity, the number of penetrations, and the water content is paralleled, providing a basis for the combination of electrical resistivity tomography and field tests.Through the application of the electrical resistivity tomography in multiple areas and the interactive verification in various ways,it is shown that the electrical resistivity tomography can identify the buried depth of the sliding surface, the change of the groundwater level, the stratigraphic structure, the spatial morphological characteristics of the water-rich area, and the distribution of sinkholes, etc. In many aspects,it plays a pivotal role in geological exploration.Through the development and application of electrical resistivity tomography, this paper shows that electrical resistivity tomography play an increasingly important role in exploration, provides guidance for disaster prevention and mitigation decisions, and provides new ideas and scientific methods for future disaster research.
