| With the development of national economy,penning ion source,as an ion generation device with relatively simple structure and strong reliability,has gradually expanded from the traditional national defense and military field to the fields of agriculture,physics and nuclear data measurement.For example,in the industrial field,the neutron tube with penning ion source as the core component has played an important role in petroleum logging,element analysis,security inspection and security,etc;In the civil field,the research and development of small household oxygen generator is also based on the principle of penning ion source;In the aerospace field,Penning ion source also provides technical support in the research and development of plasma thrusters.Penning ion source has become the core component of neutron tube,household oxygen generator and plasma propeller because of its high reliability and strong service performance.At the same time,the research and development of high beam and long-life penning ion source is also in line with the research and development focus of China at the present stage.Therefore,the research and development of high-performance penning ion source has a good market prospect.China has a large market demand for high-performance penning ion source,and there are many domestic related products,but there is still room for improvement in aspects such as extraction beam intensity and service life.Therefore,the problem of improving the performance of penning ion source needs to be solved urgently.Although some progress has been made in the exploration of penning ion source at this stage,it still needs to be further studied.The traditional Penning ion source can only be extracted in a single direction,so the intensity of the extracted ion beam is limited.This paper intends to explore how to improve the extraction beam intensity and service life of Penning ion source in a small size.Because the structure size of penning ion source is mainly determined by its diameter,it has broad prospects if the extraction beam intensity and service life can be improved without increasing the diameter of ion source.Considering that the traditional penning ion source is only one-way extraction,it is envisaged that the extraction of ion beam along both ends of the axial direction will have obvious advantages.In addition,considering the accumulation of existing products and technologies,bidirectional extraction will not have a great impact on its structure,and can also be realized in technology.Therefore,the research and development of bidirectional extraction penning ion source can improve its beam intensity and service life.At the same time,it has the following significance:(1)bidirectional extraction along the axis can improve the total intensity of ion extraction beam.In addition,the positive and negative ion beams can be led out on both sides by selecting the difference between the positive and negative voltages,which is closer to the production practice.(2)The structure of bidirectional extraction ion source will double the service life of penning ion source.In practical application,select one end to lead out the ion beam and shoot the target.When the target reaches the service life,select the other end to lead out the ion beam,which will improve the service life of penning ion source.In this paper,through a series of methods such as theoretical calculation,threedimensional modeling,simulation and experiment,the bi-directional extraction penning ion source is described by MHD equation.At the same time,the discharge model of penning ion source is established and deeply studied.The final result improves the performance of the existing penning ion source.The ionization experiment of bidirectional Penning ion source structure ion source can produce ionization reaction and plasma in Penning ion source.The latest research results will be widely used in the following fields:(1)It can be used in new high beam and long-life hit sub tubes,and can ensure large ion extraction beam intensity in small size;(2)It can provide a new research and development idea for the household oxygen generator,and the negative oxygen ions produced can be used in the household oxygen generator,so as to improve the ion beam intensity of the household oxygen generator;(3)It can provide a new technical reference for the plasma propeller.The service life of the plasma propeller can be increased and the performance index can be improved by extracting the plasma from the two directions. |
