The Paradigm Debate Between Empiricism And Rationalism In Ecology

In today's society,with the support of modern science and technology,industrial civilization is extremely prosperous,but the following ecological problems are increasingly serious.Therefore,to solve the current ecological problems has become a major task for people.In addition to the specific technical measures and policy guidelines,the solution of ecological problems also needs the relevant philosophical theory to give its internal support.Therefore,understanding the development of ecological theory and the thinking mode behind it has become a necessary link in the process of solving ecological problems.In the study of contemporary ecological theory,empiricism and rationalism are the most representative and different paradigms of many ecological theories.Therefore,it is very important for us to study and analyze the origin,development and reasons of mutual query of these two paradigms from the philosophical level.Based on this,this paper reviews the tradition of natural science,the birth of ecology,the rise and development of experimental ecology,the rise and development of theoretical ecology,the mutual query between empiricism and theory only in ecology and their causes,as well as the relationship between them,so as to provide some theoretical benefits for the solution of ecological problems and the further development of ecological civilization.
