The Kelameili Gas Field is characterized by complex lithology, rich reservoir pore types, reservoir heterogeneity and the speed changes quickly in the vertical and horizontal directions, which have caused great difficulties in reservoir logging evaluation. For the difficulty requirements of current exploration and development, the use of conventional logging technology is no longer enough. The use of new logging technology is imminent and can better solve the difficulties faced in the development of oil and gas fields.Compared with conventional sonic logging, dipole shear wave imaging logging data can not only measure compressional waves, but also measure shear waves, and obtain more formation information. The potential of fully utilizing and tapping dipole shear wave imaging logging data will become better to obtain formation information key.Starting from the principle of dipole shear wave imaging logging, this paper studies the related theory of dipole shear wave imaging logging, including slowness-time correlation method(STC),Alford anisotropy method, and rock elastic mechanics parameter method.Through the above theories, the compressional and shear waves, and the extraction of fast and slow shear wave slowness and other information were obtained, and the well logging evaluations such as formation anisotropy, fracture identification, and gas layer identification were carried out;And set a safe mud window, predict the fracture height and so on.In the Kelameili area, multiple wells were comprehensively evaluated using the above method.Aiming at the difficulties of principal stress direction, anisotropy evaluation, wellbore stability evaluation, and fracture height prediction in this area, corresponding interpretation standards were established and good results were achieved. This research method has been applied in the Dixi-14 well area of the Kelameili gas field and has achieved good results. It will also be extended to other work areas of the Kelameili gas field and will also provide more help for the exploration, development and production of the Kelameili gas field.
