| The main purpose of this study is to obtain the relationship between shear load and surface failure,as well as the relationship between shear strength and the "profile" of joint boundary roughness. Therefore, discontinuities or joints have an important influence on the deformation characteristics of rock structure;that is why it is important to study the relationship between shear strength and failure area of rock joints. The first part of this paper is the measurement and description of shear test. The selection of general standard for determining the shear strength of joints in rough rock mass has been explored by many engineers for many years.Several shear models have been proposed to relate shear strength to measurable joint parameters, but their limitations must be recognized. The main problem is how to measure and quantify the roughness of the joint,so as to introduce the morphological characteristics of the joint into the shear strength criterion. In the second part of this paper,we will analyze the obtained data and will explain the use of three-dimensional methods to see how the surface is damaged in 3D.Based on the analysis of the positive pressure tests of concrete with tension cracks and induced tension cracks in twelve 12 rocks,a method of sample roughness estimation is proposed. The constitutive model can be used to describe the experimental shear tests carried out in the laboratory. In addition, the required parameters in the model can be easily measured by standard laboratory tests. |
