Research On The Development Dilemma And Outlet Of Contemporary Western Animal Ethics

The development of the contemporary western animal ethics has been paid more and more attention in today's society.The views of animal rights and animal liberation theory put forward by many famous scholars promote people to study the development of the contemporary frontier issue.The novel coronavirus infection animal epidemic in early2020 has been widely concerned by the people of all walks of life.It has been listed as a public health emergencies by international community.It has aroused heated discussions among experts and scholars about the relationship between human beings and animals and animal health issues.Because animals play an indispensable role in the ecosystem,many ethical problems in ecological philosophy have emerged.This paper aims to solve the dilemma of the development of contemporary western animal ethics,and explore the way out of the dilemma under the guidance of ecological philosophy.Firstly,this paper summarizes the evolution of the main schools of western animal ethics,and explores its development process.Throughout the evolution process of contemporary western animal ethics,it is not difficult to see that the animal ethics in different periods are inextricably linked with the production and life,specific political and cultural background and religious culture at that time.Although different schools of animal ethics are difficult to unify in the fundamental meaning,characteristics and realistic goals,they are closely related.The animal ethics they advocate embodies people's moral concern for animals and extends more theoretical knowledge about animal ethics system.Due to the emergence of different schools in the evolution of contemporary western animal ethics,the different views expressed,and the difficulty of integration between theories,the development of animal ethics is stagnant and difficult to move forward,and the development of animal ethics is in trouble.Secondly,it analyzes the theoretical contribution and practical influence of the main schools of animal ethics.Animal ethics expands the scope of ethics and extends people's study from the social ethical relationship between human beings to the relationship between human beings and animals;Animal ethics has developed from Anthropocentrism to non anthropocentrism;Animal ethics also provides an important theoretical basis for the development of ecological philosophy and makes an important theoretical contribution.This paper analyzes the theoretical and practical difficulties in the development of contemporary western animal ethics.Up to now,the contemporary western animal ethics has integrated many schools of thought,but there are still some problems in theory,such as inconsistent logic,controversial theoretical claims and so on,and even the theory is still in the dilemma of absolute moral equality.There are some problems in the practice of animal ethics,such as the difficulty of public recognition of ethical education,the resistance of practice,and the failure to achieve the expected goal.If these problems can not be solved,the animal ethics will go into a corner that can not move forward.Therefore,under the guidance of Marx's ecological view,we should have all-round equal dialogue,from differences to integration,build and reshape a more perfect and good animal ethics,and take the road of sustainable development.Thirdly,in order to better solve the double dilemmas of theory and practice,this paper analyzes the causes behind the development dilemma of animal ethics,and finds out the fundamental problems from the subjective and objective reasons.The subjective reasons are that the understanding and reflection of the relationship between human and animal are not thorough,the questioning of anthropocentrism and non anthropocentrism,the western discourse hegemony and theoretical misreading,and the theory being divorced from social reality in varying degrees.The objective reasons are the conflict of philosophical theories of animal ethics,the double standards of social evaluation of animal ethics,the capital limitation of animal ethics and the institutional limitations of animal ethics practice.These reasons make the development of contemporary western animal ethics encounter many obstacles and stagnate.Finally,based on the perspective of ecological philosophy,it provides solutions to the development dilemma of contemporary western animal ethics.On the basis of ecological philosophy,this paper carries out dialogue and integration of contemporary western animal ethics.The questions and debates among the various schools of animal ethics in the contemporary west,as well as the contradictions existing in the theory itself,make its development encounter unprecedented difficulties.Therefore,the reconstruction of ecological philosophy is neither an extreme anthropocentrism nor an ecocentrism in the later stage.Instead,we should adhere to the guidance of Marx's ecological philosophy,combine the wisdom of ecological philosophy of civilization of all mankind,adhere to pluralistic dialogue and equal dialogue,and not judge how to develop contemporary western animal ethics by the strength of one family,It's not because of one family's shortcomings that contemporary western animal ethics can't continue to develop.Therefore,we should integrate the excellent ecological philosophy of human civilization and overcome the development dilemma of contemporary western animal ethics.At last,drawing lessons from the positive value of western animal ethics,criticizing and reshaping,innovating and Constructing Animal Ethics Theory and practice suitable for China's national conditions.
