The main research object of this paper is the middle and upper atmosphere of the United States.By studying the launch data of the United States rocket, the spatio-temporal distribution characteristics of the stratosphere in the United States are analyzed. The main contents include the following aspects:(1)Select the sounding data of Kwaj,Capek and Wallops rocket launch sites in the United States from 1960s to 1990s.Using the parameter Brunt-Vaisala frequency as the starting point,we investigate the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of middle-atmosphere static stability between 1960s and 1990s in 8°N?28°N and 38°N,and calculate the long-term change trend of atmospheric static stability of three sites through lomb-scargle cycle analysis.(2)The EOF analysis of the wind and temperature fields at a height of 20-55km over the launching points of Antigua,Ascen,Capek and Whtsnd shows that there are certain differences in the changes of wind and temperature fields at different heights between 1960s and 1990s.The latitudinal wind speed generally shows an upward trend. The meridional wind speed shows a significant downward trend in 14 years. The overall temperature field shows a downward trend. The time of abrupt change of trend at different heights is different, and the periodic change characteristics of wind field and temperature field at different heights are obviously different.(3)By analyzing the variation characteristics of turbulence intensity I,turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate ? and heating rate a of 20-55km in Antigua,Capek and Wallops stations,it is found that the variation trend of zonal wind is more significant than meridional wind, and the trend change will always occur within the range of 20-30km.Turbulence intensity I generally presents a phenomenon that the value of I decreases as the absolute value of wind speed increases, and the distribution probability is the largest within the range of 0.06-0.12.?u increases significantly with the rise of height, while ?u grows slowly compared with ?u.It is inferred that the height of 40-55km is the strong development zone of ? and a.
