With the progress of optical and electronic technology, the demand for excellent non-linear optical materials continues to increase. These materials have been extensively applied to fiber coupler, optical limiting, molecular detector and waveguide device and other fields.Metal nanoparticles have excellent nonlinear optical response and stability.Embedding metal nanoparticles into different optical crystals can exhibit unique nonlinear optical properties due to complex synergistic effects. In this paper,Zn/Au ions were implanted into the typical optical crystals Nd:YAG and Li Nb O3by single implantation or sequential implantation. The formation, structure and optical properties of nanoparticles were studied in detail. The primary study contents and results are shown below:(1)Zn and Au ions were implanted into Nd:YAG single crystal separately and sequentially,in which the implanted energy of Zn and Au ions were 60 ke V and 140ke V,respectively, and the implanted dose of Zn and Au ions were 3×1016/cm2 and5×1016/cm2,respectively.The structure, distribution, optical absorption properties and thermal evolution of the nanoparticles induced by Zn/Au ion implantation were researched by UV-Vis,XTEM and Z-Scan analysis techniques. The UV-Vis results showed that the single Zn implanted sample showed an obvious absorption peak at 290nm,and after annealing at 900?,a weak absorption peak corresponding to the Zn O nanoparticles appeared at 365 nm.The absorption peak was observed at 550 nm for the sample implanted with single Au.After annealing at 900?,the location of LSPR peak was red-shifted to 585 nm.The absorption peaks of the Zn and Au sample were around530 nm,which was blue-shifted by about 20 nm compared with the Au sample. After annealing at 900?,the two absorption peaks are at essentially the same position, but the LSPR peak intensity of the Zn and Au dual into the sample in sequence is significantly enhanced and narrowed.XTEM observation results show that the Au nanoparticles synthesized by the Zn and Au annealed samples implanted at 900?in sequence are larger in size, narrower in spatial distribution, and higher in volume fraction than the single implanted samples of Au.The Z-Scan measurement results show that Au nanoparticles embedded in Nd:YAG single crystal can significantly enhance the nonlinear absorption performance the composite. In addition, the Zn and Au sequentially implanted samples have a lower saturation strength?6.712×109W/cm2,a higher nonlinear absorption coefficient?12.035×10-5 cm/W and a greater modulation depth 81%at 900?annealing.These parameters provide theoretical and experimental basis for the construction of saturable absorbers based on Au/Nd:YAG nanocomposites.(2)Zn and Au ions were implanted into Z-cut Li Nb O3 crystal separately and sequentially,in which the energy and dose of Zn ions were 70 ke V and 5×1016/cm2,respectively,and the energy and dose of Au ions were 140 ke V and 4×1016/cm2,respectively.With the help of UV-Vis and XTEM techniques, the linear absorption, morphology and structure, and thermal evolution of nanoparticles formed by Zn/Au ion implantation were studied. The UV-Vis results showed that the Zn nanoparticles showed an LSPR peak at 335 nm for the single Zn injection sample. After annealing at300?,the Zn nanoparticles decomposed and the absorption peak disappeared;no obvious absorption peak was observed for the single Au injection sample, after annealing at 300?the LSPR peak of Au nanoparticles appeared at 582 nm.As the annealing temperature rises, the LSPR peak was significantly enhanced and the position red-shifted.However,after the Zn and Au were sequentially implanted into the sample and annealed at 300?,the positions of the two peaks were located at 555 nm and 672nm respectively after fitting, and the two peaks disappeared when the annealing temperature rose to 500?.The XTEM results showed that Au nanoparticles with large size and irregular shape were generated on the surface of Au single implantation and Zn and Au sequential implantation samples after annealing at 300?.However,the size of Au nanoparticles in the sequential implantation of Zn and Au is relatively large in the horizontal direction,so different LSPR modes will be generated in the two polarization directions.
