With the progress of science,many experts and scholars have become more and more complex in the study of earth fluids,in which the movement and change of the atmosphere and ocean are closely related to human life.On the basis of the experts and scholars in recent years on the earth fluid comprehensive research,found that the terrain and the delta effect on the function of positive pressure rossby wave can not be ignored,in the large scale is the important object of study.The effects of non-zonal basic flow,topography and ? effect on barotropic Rossby waves are studied.The first chapter mainly introduces the Rossby waves research background and research status.The second chapter a vorticity equation,quasigeostrophic vorticity equation,and have a delta effect quasigeostrophic vorticity equation.In the third chapter,the dimensionless equation is firstly derived by using the multi-scale method to obtain the equation of dispersion relation and energy relation.Using the multi-scale method,the stability of barotropic Rossby waves with topography and ? effects have been studied in non-zonal basic flow.The influences of the non-zonal basic flows and topography and the parameter ? on the Rossby waves are discussed.The results show that the W-E oriented topography and the N-S oriented topography on the stability and phase speed of the Rossby waves are quite different;the effect of parameter ? is remarkable in the high latitude regions.
