Biotechnology has made many important progress in the 21 st century.Microorganisms have been widely used in various industries.In the process of microbial breeding and transformation,a large number of clonal colonies need to be selected.Traditional manual selection of colonies can not meet the requirements of high-throughput clone screening,and manual selection based on the subjective judgment of the lab technician is easy to miss the target colonies.Therefore,this paper presents a novel design of a high-throughput,simple operation process,high efficiency and precision of colony picking equipment,which will contribute to the field of bioengineering in China,promote the development of biotechnology in China,and break the monopoly situation of foreign equipment.After the research and analysis of the clonal colony picking equipment on the market,this paper designs a new type of colony picking equipment.The clone colony picking equipment mainly includes image acquisition device,picking and inoculating moving slide device,rotating turntable device,picking and inoculating device,cleaning and sterilization device and rotating auxiliary device.It also includes image acquisition and processing system of and computer control system based on multi-axis motion control card.First of all,Solid Works software is used to carry out three-dimensional modeling of each component mechanism of the equipment,and ANSYS software is used for mechanical static analysis and modal analysis of key parts.Then,ADAMS virtual prototype simulation software is used to simulate the kinematics of the whole machine,and the specific structural details are studied and improved.When the parts meet the design standards,the prototype of the colony picking equipment is fabricated and assembled.Then,the collected colony images are processed in the computer by using machine vision technology to identify,screen and locate the target colonies.Next,the control program of the equipment is developed based on the multi-axis motion control card and the dynamic link library provided by it.Finally,the prototype debugging and some related experiments are carried out based on the motion control system and machine vision system.The experiments prove that the equipment can complete a series of automatic operations on the colony,such as identification,location,picking and inoculation,cleaning and sterilization.
