With the rapid growth of the number of cars in recent years, the number of waste tires produced during the use of cars has also increased. The lightweight mixed filler containing waste tire rubber particles has the advantages of small weight, suitable compaction and high strength. The lightweight mixed filler containing waste tire rubber particles has the advantages of low weight, suitable for compaction and high strength. However, there are still few studies on waste tire rubber particles-residual soil lightweight mixed fillers.Through the determination of the basic physical indicators of raw materials and indoor tests, the compression characteristics, shear characteristics and reinforcement properties of the mixed fillers are studied, and the mechanism and influencing factors are discussed, providing guidance for subsequent engineering applications. The indoor compression test was carried out to study the influence of the rubber particle content and residual soil particle size in the mixed filler on the compression characteristics under the action of vertical stress. The test results showed that both the content of rubber particles and the particle size of residual soil will change the distribution and contact state of rubber particles and residual soil particles in the mixed filler, and together affect the compression of the mixed filler. The compression amount and elastoplastic strain of the mixed filler increase with the increase of the rubber content and the particle size of residual soil. The compressive modulus of the mixed filler decrease with the increase of the rubber particle content and the particle size of residual soil.A self-made shearing instrument was used to conduct indoor shear tests to study the effects of the rubber particle content and residual soil particle size in the mixed filler on the shear characteristics under different vertical stresses.According to the test data, the shear strength and index of the mixed filler when the residual soil is mixed with rubber particles are significantly greater than when the rubber particles are not mixed. As the rubber content increases, the greater the shear strength, the softening characteristics of the stress-strain curve gradually disappear, and the degree of hardening increases. As the particle size of residual soil increases, the shear strength increases.Based on the results of the indoor shear test, the mixed filler formed by the optimal rubber content were selected, and under the action of different vertical stresses, the indoor reinforcement test of geosynthetics was carried out to study its reinforcement performance and mechanism. The research results showed that the reinforcement performance of warpknitted geogrid is the best, followed by bidirectional geogrid and geotextile.Geotextilereinforced soil is suitable for projects that allow large deformations, and geogrid-reinforced soil is suitable for projects that require high deformation.
