The biological soil crust is a special complex formed by the combination of plants,microorganisms and soil particles.It is widely distributed in arid and semi-arid areas of the world.The data show that biological soil crusts are made up of natural organisms such as algae,Lichens and Mosses,as well as heterotrophs such as bacteria and Microfungi,known as ecosystem restoration engineers,used to restore carbon in sand and deserts,nitrogen and phosphorus,as well as soil enzyme activities,regulate soil surface hydrological processes(precipitation infiltration,surface runoff,evaporation,and so on),thus affecting the germination,survival and growth of soil vegetation seeds.In general,crusts can be classified into three types: Algal crusts,Lichen crusts,and Mossy crusts.Soil crusts are a very important indicator,and are important as an ecological parameter for arid and semi-arid ecosystems,said Environmental monitoring,an ecologist at the University of California,Berkeley.At present,the coverage rate of soil crust mainly depends on manual calculation,which can not meet the requirements of precision and speed.Therefore,this thesis uses image processing technology to analyze the coverage of soil crust.In this study,cluster segmentation,threshold segmentation and color space were used to segment the target image accurately,and morphological processing was used to analyze the coverage of biological soil crust.The main research contents include:(1)The pretreatment of biological soil crust,according to the characteristics of soil crust,denoising and enhancing biological image by the diversity methods such as median filtering,gauss smoothing,gray stretching,etc.,preserve as much detail as possible in the image.(2)Segmentation of biological soil crust image.LAB-FCM SEGMENTATION,histogram threshold segmentation and active contour segmentation are used to segment the image.(3)Analyzing the precision and coverage of biological soil crust.The segmented image is processed by morphology,and then the region coverage is calculated based on the binary image processed by morphology,at last,the segmentation precision and the coverage precision of the image are analyzed by the methods of computing the segmentation precision and Dice coincidence rate based on the GT(ground truth)image.(4)The bio-soil crust segmentation and coverage system based on Matlab Gui is integrated to realize the functions of median filtering,gauss smoothing,image segmentation,etc.,the typical examples include image pre-processing,coverage calculation,etc.
