The appearance of artificial metasurfaces provides a simple and effective means for the control of electromagnetic waves.In recent years,the research of digital coding metasurface has significantly sped up.By loading active devices in each unit,the dynamic real-time control of electromagnetic wave becomes possible,which shows broad application prospect in microwave engineering.In this paper,the application of digital coding electromagnetic metasurface is studied,and the main work includes the following aspects:1.A transmissive polarization-conversion coding metasurface is proposed,which can effectively adjust the transmission phase by changing the transmission line length in each unit,with relatively small transmission loss.Furthermore,the generation of OAM beams with different topological charges is realized by changing the arrangement of the elements in the metasurface.2.A new reflective/transmissive digital coding metasurface is proposed.It is a multilayered structure,and by adjusting the active devices on different layers,it can operate in reflection or transmission mode respectively.Two indpendent phase states can be realized for 1-bit coding metasurface design.3.An digital coding metasurface is designed to realize the functionality of polarization conversion.By switching on/off the embeded diodes,the metasurface can effectively convert the incident wave into the cross-polarized wave in the x-band,under the irradiation of the linearly or circularly polarized waves.Compared with the traditional active polarization converter,it shows better applicability in the engineering.
