Slope stability analysis is still an active and important research field of geotechnical engineering in theory and in practice. Most slope stability analyses adopt limit equilibrium method(LEMs)or finite element method(FEM)as standard methods, but these methods have more or less limits. For example,LEMs ignore soil deformation behavior and requires many assumptions;limited by the grid technology, the finite element method cannot calculate the large deformation of rock and soil slope.Smooth particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method has been developed gradually to solve the above problems, but there are still many problems to be solved in slope stability analysis by using SPH method. In this paper, the influence factors of SPH numerical simulation are studied based on a classic two-dimensional slope, and the stability of Sangping high slope in Sichuan Tibet highway is studied with SPH analysis method. The main research contents are as follows:(1)By collecting the current situation of large deformation analysis of SPH method in the field of slope and landslide, this paper summarizes and analyzes the shortcomings of current research and the feasibility of using SPH to analyze slope stability.(2)In this paper, the basic theory and solution idea of SPH are summarized, and the implementation of SPH method in ABAQUS is studied.(3)Based on the classic slope case adopted by Dawson, the feasibility of using SPH method to calculate slope stability is studied, including selection of kernel function and mode of gravity loading, which are closely related to the analysis.A reasonable slope instability criterion is proposed, and the influence of different yield criteria and flow rules on the slope safety factor is studied;meanwhile, the influence of geometric dimensions, which including slope height and slope angle, and slope shear strength on slope stability is also studied. The comparative study of SPH method and FEM strength reduction method is carried out to verify the reliability of SPH method.(4)Combined with the Sangping high slope project of Sichuan Tibet highway, the LEMs,FEM strength reduction method and three-dimensional SPH method are used to analyze the deformation, yield area and safety factor. The results show that the safety factors obtained by the three methods are consistent, the deformation development process and the distribution of yield area are similar, which highlights the rationality and superiority of SPH method in the calculation of large deformation of slope.
