As armor piercing projectile core is high density and large aspect ratio,it has high initial velocity and kinetic energy.Therefore,the impact of the flat-panel explosive reactive armor is not satisfactory.In order to effectively interfere with the armor piercing projectile and reduce the depth of its penetration into the main armor,a reactive armor with line shaped charge structure is adopted in this paper.The research on the anti-penetration mechanism of new reactive armor is great guiding value to the penetration and protection design of the tank resistant armor piercing projectile.The main researches and conclusions are as follows:The traditional reactive armor is sandwich structure,but new reactive armor is a linear shaped charge structure with a certain angle,which is mainly composed of a shaped charge liner,an explosive and a bottom plate.On the basis of model and algorithm verification,the numerical simulation of the linear shaped charge jet was carried out by using Dyna software.The basic feature of jet was obtained,and the top velocity variation of linear shaped charge jet was analyzed.According to the influencing factors of the jet,the wedge angle,the thickness of the liner and charge thickness were determined as the optimization parameters.The jet velocity and kinetic energy were used as the evaluation indexes.The orthogonal optimization method and the mathematical statistics were used to optimize the linear shaped charge structure.After then,the velocity of jet head and kinetic energy were the maximum.The static experiment was carried out,and it was obtained that the jet can cut and impact the tungsten rod,finally it happened to fracture.Through the numerical simulation and theoretical analysis of the armor interference with armor piercing projectile,the penetration mechanism of the armor resistant armor piercing projectile was studied.Tungsten rods happen to damage and deflect.For different diameters of tungsten rods,the characteristic of anti-penetration of the reactive armor is different: the fine tungsten rod is broken,therefore the rod penetrates the target at different inclinations.For a larger diameter of tungsten rod,after being interfered by the reactive armor,it only ruptured at the front of the tungsten rod.The rear rod penetrates the target on the basis of the front rod penetration,and the penetration angle becomes larger,so the ability of longitudinal penetration is reduces.According to the collision theory of rigid body plane moving,the deflection angle of tungsten rod is in good agreement with the numerical simulation before it penetrates the target.The influence of speed and initial angle of rod on the penetration performance of reactive armor was analyzed.With the decrease of the projectile speed and the increase of initial angle,the tungsten bar is seriously damaged and the angle of penetration increases,the depth of the penetrating target is reduced,the diameter of the penetration hole is increased,and the penetration ability of the armor resistant projectile is improved.
