Rapid flow-like landslides is a kind of extremely destructive geological disaster, generally manifested as high-speed,long-distance flow movement, which causes damage to local railway, highway, water transportation and other infrastructure, resulting in huge economic losses. Therefore, based on the finite difference method, this paper proposes a numerical model suitable for rapid flow-like landslides to simulate the movement process of this type of landslide, which has certain significance for the spatial prediction and prevention of this type of landslide. This article first systematically introduces the movement characteristics of rapid flow-like landslides, and details the recent progress made by domestic and foreign scholars in the research of rapid flow-like landslides from three aspects: model test, laboratory test and numerical simulation. On the basis of the existing research, the landslide composed of complex components is simplified into a continuous soil column, and the governing equations in the numerical model of the landslide are derived by analyzing the force of the column element.According to the movement characteristics of rapid flow-like landslide, the calculation of landslide base entrainment effect and landslide front edge pushing effect is considered in the model. The finite difference method is used to discrete the control equations in the model, and the rapid flow-like landslide is compiled by MATLAB language. The motion simulation program realizes the iterative solution of variables such as the height and speed of the sliding mass in the control equation. In order to test the rationality of the model and procedure, this paper validates the feasibility of the landslide numerical model from different angles through three numerical tests: dam break test, landslide base entrainment test, and landslide leading edge push test.Afterwards,in order to verify the simulation effect of the model program on the landslide, the simulation program was used to simulate and analyze two typical rapid flow-like landslides, the Dagou landslide in Tianshui,Gansu and the Dongfeng landslide in Jingyang loess tableland, respectively.Analysis of landslide basement entrainment and landslide front edge pushing effect. The simulation results of the three numerical experiments show that the model in this paper is suitable for rapid flow-like landslides simulation and can better reflect the landslides exhibited during the landslide movement. There are two typical phenomena of basement erosion entrainment and the front edge of landslide;the simulation results of Dagou landslide show that the model in this paper can simulate the two deflection processes of the landslide and the entrainment effect of the material on the bottom of the trench along the way.The landslide simulation before and after the entrainment effect is considered by comparison The results show that the entrainment effect along the base of the landslide will significantly increase the final volume of the landslide;the simulation results of the Dongfeng landslide show that when considering the landslide pushing effect, the distance of the sliding mass is reduced and there is a clear boundary with the pushed sand gravel. This is more in line with the results of the field investigation, which proves the rationality of the model in this paper for the calculation of the pushing effect of the landslide front.
