In order to explain the nature of the trees to occupy the space and the size of the space and so on,this study uses the Larix gmelinii as the research object.The L.gmelinii with different base diameters and different stands is selected as the research object including Betula plaryphylla forest,L.gmelinii forest,conifer and broad-leaved forest and L.gmelinii forest in wild grass ground.In this paper,the fractal geometry theory is applied to discuss the three fractal dimensions of the cross-sectional area,the volume and the biomass.The branch pattern of the L.gmelinii in different stands of the same tree species is discussed.The fractal dimension of different stands adopts single factor analysis of variance.The results of the study are as follows:(1)Fractal dimension of cross-sectional area shows self-similarity in the branch pattern of L.gmelinii.The fractal dimension of the B.platyphylla forest in the four stands is between 0.8343 and 0.9267,the L.gmelinii forest is between 0.6543 and 0.9497,the broadleaf and broad-leaved mixed forest is between 0.7292 and 0.7757,and the L.gmelinii forest in wild grass ground is between 0.8602 and 0.9099.The singlefactor analysis of variance shows that there is no significant difference in the fractal dimension of the four stands.Based on the least square method,the fractal dimension of the cross-sectional area of the L.gmelinii is 0.8639.(2)The volume fractal dimension of L.gmelinii under four stands also indicates that the branch pattern is self-similar.With the least square method,the fractal dimension of L.gmelinii in B.platyphylla forest is between 1.4662 and 1.5031,that of L.gmelinii forest is between 1.3037 and 1.537,that of conifer and broad mixed forest is between 1.4887 and 1.5815,and that of L.gmelinii forest in wild grass ground is between 1.4596 and 1.5478.Through single factor variance analysis,there is no significant difference in volume fractal dimension under the four stands.The fractal dimension of L.gmelinii is calculated by the least square method is 1.6021.(3)Biomass fractal dimension of L.gmelinii shows that self-similarity in branch pattern.The biomass fractal dimension of L.gmelinii in B.platyphylla forest is between 1.2974 and 1.3272,that of L.gmelinii forest is between 1.209 and 1.4081,that of conifer and broad mixed forest is between 1.3039 and 1.4232,and that of L.gmelinii forest in wild grass ground is between 1.2943 and 1.4977.Statistically,there is no significant difference in fractal dimension among the four stands.Based on the least square method,the fractal dimension of L.gmelinii is 1.4277.In this paper,the fractal dimensions of cross-sectional area,volume and biomass under four stands are calculated.The changing trends under their respective stands are analyzed.Based on three fractal dimensions under single factor variance analysis,the differences between the four stands are further explored.Three kinds of fractal dimensions with the least square method are calculated,and the branch pattern of L.gmelinii is analyzed.This research has certain reference significance for improving community stability,restoring mountain vegetation and improving water conservation function.
