Metamaterial is a kind of artificial material with sub wavelength structure.It can achieve negative refractive index,negative permeability and other physical phenomena that natural materials can not achieve.Electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT)is a coherent process of two beams of light,which makes the originally opaque medium produce a transparent window in a certain frequency range,accompanied by the rapid change of phase and slow light.In this paper,a metamaterial like electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT like)based on split ring resonator(SRR)is proposed,and its simulation and experimental research are carried out.The innovative work and achievements of this paper mainly include the following aspects:1.A new metamaterial structure is proposed to realize EIT like.This structure is composed of two SRRs placed crosswise.Both SRRs have the same size.The incident electric field along the vertical SRR gap can be excited by the incident electromagnetic wave to the greatest extent.The rotating SRR can not be directly excited by the incident electromagnetic wave,and the energy can only be transferred to the rotating SRR through the near-field coupling of the vertical SRR.This is a transparent window on the transmission curve.The EIT like mechanism is more clearly understood by surface current analysis.The EIT like phenomenon of this structure is related to the angle between the two rings.Finally,the application of EIT like is studied.The phase of the transparent window changes greatly and has a large group index,which can be used to generate slow light.2.A planar metamaterial structure is proposed,which is composed of two SRRs.The two SRRs are in the same plane and the gap direction of SRR is opposite to that of the above structure.Mainly studies the influence of the distance between the two SRRs on the transmission curve.In 5-8 GHz,with the increase of the distance between the two structures,the corresponding two resonance frequencies are close and the transparent window decreases.Finally,the coupling mechanism between the two SRRs is analyzed.
