Over the past century, rising temperatures have posed a challenge to the survival of animals. As an important part of the ecosystem, birds are highly sensitive to global warming. In this experiment,we studied the metabolic thermogenesis and antioxidant defense mechanism of the Garrulax canorus under high temperature conditions.Place wild caught Garrulax canorus at room temperature of 25°C,Photoperiod of 12L:12D in the environment of free access to food and water, after 4 weeks of adaptation, they were divided into 7 groups: Control group, high temperature 1d,3d,7d and 21 d groups(high temperature 38? for 1 day,3 days,7 days, and 21 days),recovery 21 d and 42 d groups(38? for 21 days and return to 25? for 21 days and 42 days)The results showed that compared with control group, high temperature domestication Garrulax canorus set of body weight, metabolism, energy balance, the state 4 respiration and cytochrome C enzyme activity, thyroid hormone, the expression of uncoupling protein on muscle(av-UCP)were significantly lower after recovery group resume back to normal..The results of microscopic section of the duodenum of the Garrulax canorus showed that there were significant differences in the number of villi at the bottom.Compared with the control group, the number of bottom villi in the high temperature 21 d group was significantly lower.Although the recovery group recovered,it did not return to the normal level.Liver tissue expression of heat shock protein HSP70 in 1 day high temperature stimulation response,as the high temperature stimulation time increased to 3 to 7 days response of HSP70 gradually strengthened and peak, more than 7 days, however, the high temperature treatment on stress of liver tissue protein system began to produce damage effect, high temperature 21 days of HSP70 protein expression was significantly lower, after the recovery process is the expression of HSP70 restore to the normal level;Muscle tissue expression of heat shock protein HSP70 did not respond to high temperature stimulation, indicating that the response sensitivity of liver HSP70 to high temperature stimulation was higher than that of muscle tissue.Compared with the control group, the protein expressions of superoxide dismutase(Mn-SOD),catalase(CAT)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)genes in the liver tissues of Garrulax canorus had no significant changes after high temperature treatment and recovery treatment;the protein of Mn-SOD gene in muscle did not change significantly. In conclusion,Garrulax canorus can adapt to the high temperature environmental by reducing their metabolic thermogenesis and improving their antioxidant defense ability.
