Underwater wireless sensor network(UWSN)is one of the effective methods to obtain ocean data, and the research on underwater routing technology has become a hot spot. However,in underwater networks, the life cycle of the network is an important factor that affects the overall performance of the routing protocol.Due to the noisy underwater environment and poor link quality, the data integrity and survivability of the underwater network will be affected.Thence, cooperative communication is an excellent technology to solve such problems. In this communication, the source node forwards data through the cooperative path to improve network throughput, while the destination node receives data packets that do not contain obvious errors. Therefore,in this article,we use a cooperative communication method to optimize the route of the underwater sensor network;solve the packet loss problem or life cycle of UWSN and add the verification of the accuracy of received data packets.Firstly, this article introduces the relevant introduction of the seabed observation network. It introduces the current research status of the seabed observation network at home and abroad. Then, the concept of underwater routing protocol, which is the main research direction of this article,is explained. The classification of related protocols is introduced, and various underwater cooperative routing are summarized. This paper constructs a hierarchical UWSN architecture based on the previous model, which divides the network nodes into clusters and adds a cooperative communication model to the clusters. It will achieve a reasonable balance of energy consumption and then analyze the underwater energy loss model.Afterwards,we propose an underwater sensor network routing optimization protocol based on cooperative communication.Compared with the traditional underwater routing protocol, the optimized routing protocol is divided into two working phases: the network layering phase and the data transmission phase. We add the relay cooperation model to the data transmission stage. In the network layering stage, the K-means algorithm is used to cluster nodes, and the conditional probability can be used to select cluster heads to prevent the randomness of cluster head nodes. In the process of data transmission, the cluster head is responsible for forwarding data upwards to the sink node on the water surface, and the cluster is responsible for cooperative transmission between each other. The reasonable layering of the network clearly divides the functions of nodes and uses the advantages of clustered networks to reduce the energy burden and improve energy utilization. The optimized protocol uses cooperative communication to replace ordinary multi-hop transmission, which can better guarantee the link quality of the underwater channel. We also compared the proposed protocol with other protocols by simulation. The results show that the proposed protocol effectively prolongs the network life cycle, improves the correct rate of receiving data packets, and increases the network utilization rate. Finally,we use the independently developed hydroacoustic node in the laboratory for marine experimental communication. We will introduce the relevant hardware design of the hydroacoustic node and explain the communication scheme of the node.We take the control group to prove that the cooperative communication is added. The data transmission success rate of underwater acoustic nodes is maintained above 99%,which the problem of high data distortion rate is solved even the communication status is not good.
