In recent years, with the development of various departments and disciplines, thematic maps,as the main research methods of regional disciplines, have been widely valued and applied. From experience mapping, statistical mapping, model mapping to knowledge mapping, with the development and change of mapping mode and the urgent demand of knowledge growth,it is imperative to upgrade data information to knowledge service. The knowledge map of cartographic concept reflects the quality, quantity, structure, dynamics and interrelationship of thematic knowledge in the form of organization and representation of map.Not only the explicit knowledge is reflected by words, graphics and charts, but more importantly, the tacit knowledge is superimposed, compared and dynamically visualized through a variety of means such as graphtext-table-image to reveal its inherent law. With the complex and changeable relations among the major powers in the contemporary world, the strategic competition around various resources related to survival interests is becoming increasingly fierce, and national security risks can not be ignored.Geo-strategic research is no longer the patent of politicians and geographers, and media such as the Internet have undertaken the task of popularizing geo-knowledge to the general public to a large extent. The traditional geotheoretical knowledge is mainly based on qualitative analysis, and large text representation is not conducive for readers to understand and grasp the theme of the author’s article. The highly generalized and visual information transmission and spatial cognitive function of the map make it possible for obscure and complex knowledge to be presented to users succinctly. Therefore, combining the research field of geo-knowledge with map knowledge representation and playing the role of map as an efficient cognitive tool can enable people to acquire the knowledge they need as quickly as possible. The main work includes:1.Based on the analysis of the current research situation of geographical research and map representation of knowledge, this paper leads to the research ideas and practical significance of this paper. This paper analyzes the related concepts and connotation characteristics of geoknowledge, summarizes the methods of map representation, and puts forward the theoretical framework of geo-knowledge map representation, which provides theoretical basis and technical support for map representation and visualization analysis of geo-knowledge.2.Based on the knowledge framework of geo-map representation, the general methods of geo-knowledge representation are given.Through the questionnaire survey, this paper mainly analyzes the differences of the representation methods of the same type of geo-knowledge and the superposition of different types of geo-knowledge,gives guiding suggestions, and establishes the mapping relationship between all kinds of geo-knowledge and map representation.it provides a theoretical and methodological reference for the subsequent map representation of geo-knowledge.3.This paper summarizes the map visualization analysis process of geo-knowledge,and takes the geo-knowledge analysis of energy trade and arms trade as a case, using spatial analysis and social network analysis to analyze the spatial characteristics,spatio-temporal change trend and clustering characteristics of geo-knowledge,and visualization analysis by using map representation methods such as LISA clustering map, deformation map, dynamic timeline map, flow map, social network map and so on.This paper describes the whole process of geo-knowledge visualization analysis from data preparation to analysis and mining, and then to knowledge discovery and visual representation, which provides a method for geo-knowledge mapping.
