Objective:The Hengduan Mountains has been viewed as an important biodiversity hotspot for understanding plant evolution and conservation. In order to explore the altitudinal pattern of berry plants in the Hengduan Mountains,we integrated multiple results including total distribution number of families, genera and species, and a polyphenol contents in berry plants among different altitudes and families. Our results will fill in gaps and provide references for related research in the Hengduan Mountains.Methods:1 Distribution data of berry plant in the Hengduan mountains were firstly collected from fields investigations and specimens, and all the species were summarized and sorted by provincial boundary, altitudinal pattern and taxonomy classification(i.e.families and genera).2 The polyphenols contents of berry plants in Hengduan Mountains were collected through different retrieval channels. And the polyphenol content of existing and later picked berry plants was detected.3 Species were classified according to different spans at the same altitude, and list its single family for discussion.Results:1.Statistical Analysis of Berry plants in Hengduan Mountains1.1 There are 44 families,115 genera and 559 species of berry plants in Hengduan Mountains.1.2 Berry plants in the Hengduan Mountains are mainly distributed in Yunnan Province, with a total of 392 species belonging to 82 genera and 36 families, accounting for 70.13% of the berries in Hengduan Mountains area.1.3 The number of families, genera and species of berry plants in Hengduan Mountains is the largest at 2001—3000 meters, and all of them are inverted U-shaped with the increase of altitude gradient; The span of 500 meters in 0Mel is the most, which decreases with the increase of altitude span.2.Study on the characteristics of polyphenols content in berry plants at different elevations in Hengduan Mountains. In the range of 4500 meters above sea level, the polyphenol content of berry plants was inverted U-shaped with the increase of altitude; The content of polyphenols increased sharply at 4501 meters, and reached the highest at 5001-5500 meters,as high as 381.44 mg/g.3.Study on the difference of polyphenol content among berry plants at the same altitude in Hengduan Mountains.3.1 The family number of berry plants of single family is inverted U-shaped with the increase of altitude span, and it is the most in 1501—3000 meters span. The trend of polyphenol content in single family berry plants also showed an inverted U shape, which was lower than the average polyphenol content of other families at the same altitude, and the polyphenol content was the highest at 2501—3000 meters.3.2 With the increase of span, the polyphenol content of berry plants was inverted U-shaped at 1001—4000 meters above sea level. Conclusion:Comprehensive man-made,air temperature and other factors are suitable for the survival of berry plants, which is consistent with the most structure of berry plants at the altitude of 2500—2001 meters; The plants of single family belong to the weak family;Except for the lower and higher elevations, the polyphenol content of berry plants is inverted U-shaped with altitude as a whole. This phenomenon may be caused by the man-made influence of lower altitude and the climate of higher altitude, while the best joint influence of air temperature and light in the middle altitude. In order to maintain ecosystem diversity and human development,it is particularly important to explore the distribution characteristics of berry plants in the Hengduan Mountains based on polyphenol content.
