Total Suspended Solid(TSS)have an important impact on the physical and chemical environment of sea water, and are an important part of marine investigation and research. The coastal area of Shandong Peninsula is the link between the Bohai Sea,the North Yellow Sea and the South Yellow Sea.It is not only an important channel for the transport of materials from the Bohai Sea to the Yellow Sea,but also a sink for the diffusion of sediments from the modern Yellow Sea to the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea.Based on GOCI remote sensing data of COMS satellite, the monthly and diurnal variations of TSS concentration and fronts in the coastal waters of Shandong Peninsula are analyzed. The distribution and transport of TSS in the coastal waters of Shandong Peninsula at different time scales are revealed. The formation mechanism of TSS is analyzed in detail with various hydro-meteorological data such as wind speed and wave height. The main achievements of this research are as follows:(1)The concentration of TSS retrieved from GOCI remote sensing data meets the research needs of spatial and temporal variation characteristics of total suspended solids distribution and transport law in the study area. The results of monthly average total suspended solids concentration in 2015 and 2016 showed that the TSS concentration was the highest in winter, decreased in spring, lowest in summer and increased in autumn, showing a significant seasonal variation. There is a turbid zone with high TSS concentration(more than 10 mg/L)along the coast of Shandong Peninsula. It begins to form in autumn. In winter, the suspended matter content, width and extension range of the turbid zone are the largest, weakening in spring and disappearing in summer. The frontal interpretation of total suspended solids reveals that the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of suspended solids transport in the study area is "summer storage and winter transport".The diffusion process of total suspended solids can be summarized into four stages: stable outward transport in winter, retreat in spring, offshore storage in summer and outward diffusion in autumn. The farthest transportation to the sea in January is the outward transportation period, and the nearest offshore transportation in August is the most stable storage period.(2)The daily variation of TSS diffusion in the region was analyzed by using 8-hour total suspended solids concentration distribution data obtained from GOCI remote sensing inversion on February 17 and May 17,2016.From 8:00 to 11:00,the concentration of suspended solids has been decreasing, which indicates that the outer sea is diffusing to land.At 11:00 and 12:00,the concentration of total suspended solids in the outer sea of the study area is the smallest. From 12:00 to 15:00,the concentration of total suspended solids in the outer sea increases consistently due to the high concentration of TSS in the offshore.Interpretation of the suspended body front on February 17 reveals that the suspended body diffuses farthest to the sea at 8:00,the suspended body front retreats to the coast from 8:00 to 11:00,the suspended body front closest to the shore at 11:00 and 12:00,and the front continues to expand to the sea after 12:00.(3)The factors affecting the concentration change and diffusion pattern of TSS in the coastal waters of Shandong Peninsula include material flux into the Sea of the Yellow River, wind field, wave and tidal current. It is considered that the TSS in the coastal waters of Shandong Peninsula mainly comes from the resuspension of the local seabed sediments, while the TSS in the modern Yellow River mainly affects the distribution and temporal and spatial changes of the TSS in the sea area near the estuary.Seasonal variations of wind waves are closely related to seasonal variations of total suspended solids concentration in the study area.Tidal and tidal variations are the main factors affecting the short-term temporal and spatial variations of suspended solids distribution in the study area.Resuspension of submarine sediments caused by wind waves and tides will provide material supplement for the transport and diffusion of surface total suspended solids.Coastal currents in Shandong Peninsula control the coastal height of Shandong Peninsula. The seasonal variation of turbidity zone keeps basically synchronization with the seasonal variation of coastal current in the transport process of total suspended solids to the sea.In winter, the interaction between the Yellow Sea Warm Current and Coastal Current will form a temperature front, which acts as a "water barrier" for the coastal TSS to diffuse to the sea.It is an important reason why the high concentration suspended solids turbidity zone along the coast of Shandong Peninsula can not further diffuse to the sea.(4)The MCC method was used to analyze the TSS distribution data obtained from remote sensing inversion in the coastal waters of Shandong Peninsula and extract the surface current information.Compared with the previous research results, the inversion results show that the information obtained by this method is stable and reliable, and can clearly display the information of surface flow velocity and direction in different time periods in the study area. The results show that the variation of surface flow in different periods is mainly influenced by the local tidal current with time. The results of this study are of great scientific significance for the systematic analysis of marine sediments, marine dynamics and marine ecological environment in the adjacent sea areas of Shandong Peninsula, and can provide necessary and theoretical reference for the analysis of beach stability, coastal engineering construction and marine environmental assessment of the coastal waters of Shandong Peninsula.
