Abstract/Summary:
The term "Unconventional art" aims to describe a practice that happens outside of the conventional market for artworks. Here, the artists Thomas Hirschhorn, Tino Sehgal and Jenny Holzer are taken as case studies to prove and explain how the artworld adapts to support the production and consumption of pieces that work beyond the marketplace. Thus, the research draws, through the mapping of different dynamics and actors, a system defined as Economies of Support, meaning the roles and contributions of different subjects that ultimately make possible the existence of Unconventional art.
