Indonesia is experiencing a reemergence of economic nationalism in recent national development policy. Agriculture and trade, in particular, are sectors targeted by recent protectionist legislation. This study explores this phenomena, combining qualitative methods and a political economic/historical approach to understanding these recent developments.
