Stock redistribution in two-echelon logistics systems

This paper considers a two-echelon stochastic inventory problem with periodic review and the possibility of lateral supply between procurement opportunities. An inventory control model for such a system with nonidentical costs over the multiple stock keeping units is presented. A combination of analytical and simulation results quantify the benefits of the proposed redistribution model.
