Abstract/Summary: | |
This thesis is an expansion to a previously written paper on a method for extracting parameters of distributed feedback lasers via the use the least mean squares algorithm. The previously written paper only addresses basic distributed feedback lasers, leaving out partially grated lasers as well as lasers with quarter wave plates, which this thesis explores. The general method used for modeling partially grated and quarter wave plated lasers is presented with a comparison between extracted data and expected nominal data in order to back the validity of the models. An in depth analysis on additional features such as parameter extractions with fixed estimations is also given in order to display the strengths and short comings of the numerical methods used in this thesis. |
