Abstract/Summary:
An airline that has become victim to a cyber-attack not only cripples the airline, but also has an impact on individual travelers. The purpose of this research is to understand how a cyber-attack would affect an airline's reservations and operations system. The research is important, as there has been in increase in cyber-attack against airlines. The research provides information on airlines, which have been targets of cyber-attacks, the impacts the airlines have incurred, and the vulnerabilities exposed due to the attack. In addition, research information into the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Next Generation Air Transportation (NextGen) implementation and its vulnerabilities.
