Pieces of me portfolio: Adventures in art making | Posted on:2015-10-22 | Degree:M.A | Type:Thesis | University:Corcoran College of Art + Design | Candidate:Bates, Jacqueline | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2475390017994786 | Subject:Education | Abstract/Summary: | | This praxis portfolio is a reflection of the transformation of myself from a DBAE (discipline based art educator) into a Visual Language Specialist who creates student oriented curriculum. It is rooted in Olivia Gude's "Principles of Possibility," and the eight " Studio Habits of Mind," developed by Hetland, Winner, Veenema and Sheridan in their book, Studio Thinking: The Real Benefits of Visual Arts Education. The five chapters in this eBook are: Learning To Play, Constructing Community, Express Your "Self", Engage and Persist, Knowing and Not Knowing. The connecting thread linking the chapters and artifacts is the importance of daily life/experience in teaching, learning, and art making/interpretation. Each chapter has artifacts from experiences as a student, teacher, and artist having adventures in the art making process. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Art | | Related items |
