Abstract/Summary:
The first requisite in developing attributes which will prevent conflicts and create unity among races, religions and nationalities is a thorough knowledge and understanding of our neighbor's culture and his needs. Our educational processes should be directed so that human behavior will present such a knowledge and understanding. Much that has been done to further intercultural relationships among Americans can easily be extended to the international. Most important to emphasize is the fact that our common humanity makes a bond among all men.;The objective of a program for intercultural understandings should be to develop a regard that will accept the distinctive contributions of every group, recognizing similarities between ourselves and other cultural groups. It is even more one of recognizing the differences and seeing in these very differences a means of enriching the lives of all men. (Abstract shortened by UMI.).
