Evangelization of youth through contextualized music ministry

In the last fifty years there has been a decline of pre-teens in the Sandusky SDA Church in attendance from 5% to 0%. This project will seek to create a method of evangelizing pre-teens through music. The hypothesis of this project is that through training, they will participate in the life of the church as active musicians. A qualitative methodology included surveys, progress log, and observation. Although none of the students attended church as a result of the program, they did attend the program, and the data demonstrates that devoted students made significant progress towards learning ten new songs.
