Abstract/Summary:
This work is a presentation of a new discipline called Spectrum Counseling, developed from a synthesis of concepts and practices, related to sacred traditions, phenomenology, heuristics, special ideas about communications, Oriental martial arts as energy channeling methods, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.; Spectrum Counseling is designed as a discipline of processes, categorized under Transpersonal Psychology and Communications, which help to encourage and stimulate the exploration, discovery, and understanding of conscious evolution within human beings. This effort was catalyzed and inspired by my studies and practices on the Path of Enlightenment, primarily based in Sufi Studies, in association with the areas previously mentioned.; The project is sectioned into four parts. Each part represents a tier, or level of activity for practitioners of Spectrum Counseling. The tiers are structured in a way which outlines the main principles of phenomenology and heuristics as exploration platforms, through which humans may perform internal investigations, which can potentially lead to discoveries concerning humanity's Higher Nature. These explorations take place through the employment of various meditation methods, used within the context of model maps, synonymous with certain principles of the Sufi Way, and related spiritual paths.; The Sufi model of the Seven Stages of the Self, as related to energy manifestations of inherent Faculties, are approached in Spectrum Counseling from the point of view of purification and refinement. Meditation techniques are specifically mapped to refinement of, the Self in terms of the body, the Heart in terms of emotions, and the Intellect in terms of perception. These processes, as they are associated with the Stages of the Self relative to phenomena known as the Extraction of Essence, and the Transmission of Mind, are projected as being beneficial in human development.; Aside from positing a viable approach--by way of intra-human communications--to internal conflict resolution generated by fragmented consciousness, this study also presents three case studies of Spectrum Counseling in action.
