Abstract/Summary:
Repellency of two neem formulations, Margosan-O;For the roaches, it was observed that Margosan-O showed a linear dose-response relationship, with a maximum repellency at 1:10 dilution. The 1:100 was observed to be an attractant. In the case of RD-9, the intermediate dilution (1:50) was a much better repellent than the highest and the lowest dilutions. There was no significant difference in the repellency index between the highest and the lowest dilutions. Deet was observed to be a better repellent than the neem formulations.;For the confused flour beetles, both of the neem formulations were found to have the highest repellency at the lowest dilution. There was no significant difference in the repellency index between the intermediate and the highest dilution. Deet, however, was observed to be an almost perfect repellent at both 1:10 and 1:50 dilution.;Our study of neem repellency for houseflies was inconclusive.
