Abstract/Summary:
The quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) technique is used in conjunction with cyclic voltammetric measurements to monitor the adsorption/desorption processes of a surfactant derivative of ferrocene. In the reduced form, this surfactant adsorbs at gold electrodes. Oxidation leads to desorption. In addition, the effects of electrode modification with a variety of disulfides on the above surfactant system are studied.
