Abstract/Summary:
There is a need for specialized training in Quality Engineering at Hughes Electronics, Space and Communications Company. The need stems from the mission of the Space and Communication Company which is to design, build, integrate, test, launch, and checkout, commercial satellites and their subsystems. The required training should comprise a mix of science and engineering courses and On-The-Job Development. The path to further technical progress lies not only in breakthrough technologies but also in the reengineering of complex systems by process improvement. This need is why the Space and Communication Company encourages its employees who are technically competent within their specialized fields to take additional courses to expand their knowledge. The Quality Engineer must maintain proficiency through continued education of advance products and processes in fields such as: structures, propulsion, antenna, communications, payload, thermal control, solar power, batteries and system level testing.
