Abstract/Summary:
Digital images acquired by VISAT system, a mobile mapping system using GPS, INS and CCD cameras, are georeferenced. Any 3D object appearing in these images can be measured from these geo-referenced digital image.;This thesis work is going to investigate geometric and photometric information about 3D objects derived from 2D digital images, to analyze their error properties in the functional and statistical models, to establish an optimal criteria for image capture, feature extraction, matching and to propose a new algorithm for optimization. The research shows the effectiveness of this algorithm and makes the VISAT mobile mapping system a more successful computer vision system.
