Abstract/Summary:
The theoretical basis for a new type of "bumpless" discrete-time controller was introduced by C. D. Johnson in 1999. This thesis is an experimental investigation of the practical capabilities of bumpless discrete-time controllers, in terms of the reduction of flex-body motion excitation, cancellation of disturbances, and enhancement of deadbeat response-time. The results are obtained by computer-simulation studies of selected examples.
