Abstract/Summary:
The City of Vancouver has seen many changes over the past few years and will continue to do so. In anticipating how the transition to e-government will effect our organization we need to address how to successfully manage this opportunity and understand how it will impinge on other changes and initiatives, as well as the impact on staff.; The purpose of this research is to gain an understanding of what our leaders needs are to facilitate the transition to e-government. Through interviews, the researcher engaged four senior level staff members in a dialogue about how they saw the current situation of e-government and how they envisioned the future state. As well, they related the advantages and disadvantages of making this transition.; A focus group was struck to devise a proposed plan on how to move from the present to the desired future state. This proposed plan was then presented to the interview participants collectively for their input and feedback. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
