Abstract/Summary:
Part memoir, and part cultural analysis, The Vegetarian's Guide to Eating Meat explores the complex world of ethical eating, during the seven years I spent as a vegetarian. The book considers the moral gray areas of the food industry beyond the humane treatment of animals, such as labor rights and global poverty, grapples with my feminist issues over domesticity and culminates with my decision to eat meat again, in order to support the creation of a local, sustainable and affordable food community.
