Abstract/Summary:
This thesis is aimed at the mass spectrometric analysis of neuropeptides extracted from bovine chromaffin granules.;HPLC-fractions contained MH;Trypsinolysls resulted in peptides that have lost 545 mass units.;Aminopeptidase M didn't result in the detection of truncated MH;At this stage of our experiments Flanagan et al. published an article on a new pyroglutamyl peptide in bovine chromaffin granules of Mr 1745 (BAM-1745; sequence ;FAB/CID-B/E linked scan and trypsinolysis of the MH;Carboxypeptidase Y confirmed the proposed amino acid sequences at the C-termini.;In a HPLC-fraction an intense signal was detected at m/z 1426 (BAM-1425). We have developed computer program to see whether peptides of given molecular correspond to a known amino acid sequence of precursor molecules. One peptide was proposed (the proenkephaline-A fragment: SPHLEDETKELQ).;Carboxypeptidase Y, trypsinolysis and the FAB/CID-B/E linked scan spectrum of MH...
