Abstract/Summary:
Studies were conducted in 1999 and 2000 at four locations across Mississippi to assess the accuracy of HADSS (Herbicide Application Decision Support System) for cotton weed control recommendations in conventional and transgenic cotton cultivars. Treatments were arranged as a split-split-plot in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Main plots were comprised of Roundup Ready, BXN and a conventional cotton cultivar, sub-plots were no-preemergence herbicide or 1.4 kg ai/ha fluometuron plus 1.1 kg ai/ha pendimethalin PRE.;Generally, HADSS recommended glyphosate in Roundup Ready cultivars, and bromoxynil in BXN cultivars.;HADSS recommended treatments gave good control in most cultivars and treatments. All treatments containing a PRE herbicide provided better than 85% control. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
