Landfill gas (LFG) consists mainly of methane and carbon dioxide, along with numerous other organic compounds produced through the refuse decomposition. Making use of LFG will not only save other energy resources, but also reduce the impact of pollution it exerts on the environment. The presence of the corrosive halogen and sulfur containing impurities in the LFG, typically at a level of tens of hundreds of ppm, makes the chance of its direct utilization very slim.;In this thesis, a method has been studied to clean up the halogenated and sulfided compounds typically found in the LFG. The theoretical calculation presented in this paper indicates that these impurities could be completely converted into HCl and H;The experimental results confirmed the above claim. The HCl and H...
