Abstract/Summary:
I interned at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission (GLFC) Secretariat in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The GLFC is a binational organization between Canada and the United States. The GLFC is responsible for a program that aims to reduce/eliminate the sea lamprey populations in the Great Lakes, facilitating the cooperative management between jurisdictions in the Great Lakes and funds research to aid in maximizing fish stock of common concern in the Great Lakes.;My internship focused on five main projects. I assisted in designing and organizing the International Eel Symposium. I was an associate editor the Biology of North American Sturgeon and Paddlefishes book, as well as authoring a chapter for the aforementioned book on the multijurisdictional management of lake sturgeon. I researched and designed an information pamphlet about Great Lakes lake sturgeon for sport fishers, and I participated in the preparation of the 2003 GLFC FORUM for publication.
