Digital currency wallet for mobile devices

Mobile users are becoming increasingly dependent on mobile applications to connect with their world. The personal nature of these devices makes them a suitable substitute for wallet. This thesis proposes a new solution to convert mobile phone to a "Digital Currency Wallet." This scheme allows users to carry exchangeable digital currencies in their mobile devices. These currencies can be exchanged among mobile users by touching their devices together. The security requirements for such a scheme are provided with a proof of concept implementation. The digital currency used in mobile wallet is secured using symmetric encryption and its transfer is secured using asymmetric encryption and close proximity transfer wireless technology.
