Abstract/Summary:
In this master's thesis, we focus on the unimodular filter bank and discuss its properties. We propose a lifting factorization for the filter bank and derive constraints that would impose regularity structurally onto the filter bank.;We are basically concerned with first-order unimodular filter banks only.;In the first part, a lifting factorization is proposed for the two building blocks of the unimodular filter bank. The McMillans minimality is preserved in both the factorizations. The proposed factorization has unity diagonal scaling and the perfect reconstruction is guaranteed even under finite precision. The filter coefficient could be obtained through an unconstrained optimization in the lifting domain also. The dynamic range of the signal is also taken care of in the lifting domain.;In the second part, constraints for imposing regularity structurally onto the first-order unimodular filter banks are derived.
